faint, loud, 2021

faint, loud experiments with the digital camera’s limitations to record light and how, when pushed, creates images that border on the fictitious. Photographs were shot in low-to-no light interior spaces on a high ISO with long exposure times. After adjusting the levels of seemingly inaccessible images, a closer examination revealed poetic compositions amongst the amplified noise of the photo. These compositions were extracted and enlarged over ten times their recommended resolution, then presented as a diptych. Up close, aberrations and pixels fill the eye of the viewer. From a distance, an abstracted, strange scene presents itself.
